Theme:

An exploration of street photography techniques with intentions to capture some sense of contemporary life. In street photography, the photographer does not just document. They search for connections, find humor, show pathos in ordinary situations by a process of combining subjects in ways that we might not ordinarily see. The street photograph is as much a portrait of the photographer’s thoughts as of their subjects. Like all of our images and assignments each image should tell a story about the person, place or situation. Just because a shot is taken in the street doesn't make it street photography. Street photographs can be taken indoors or outdoors. They can show empty spaces or crowds. What matters is intent. The intent to capture some sense of contemporary life with your unique sensibility.
